Grain logistics transportation is an important link to ensure the balance of grain security,grain supply and demand in the national grain market .The evolution of the grain logistics model has reduced transportation costs, improved transportation efficiency, and enhanced the flexibility and liquidity of the grain market.At present, China has basically formed a grain circulation pattern in which grain is transported from north to south. Heilongjiang and Henan provinces respectively accounted for 11.3% and 10.2% of China's grain output.They are the most important grain producing areas in China, while densely populated areas such as the Yangtze River Delta, Beijing-Tianjin-Tangshan region, and Southeastern coastal provinces are the main grain importers.
According to data released by the National Bureau of Grain and Material Reserves, railway and water transportation are the main methods of inter-provincial grain logistics transportation in China,of which railway accounts for 50%, waterways account for 40%, and highways account for 10%.Among them, railway and water transportation are the mainstream ways of bulk commodity transportation.
According to the "China Grain Security Report White Paper" and data from the National Grain and Material Reserve Bureau, the total volume of railway transportation in China's inter-provincial grain logistics showed an overall upward trend from 2011 to 2018. Among them, there was a short-term decline in 2015 and a cross-regional decline in 2018.
The total railway transportation volume in the provincial grain logistics is 127 million tons, and it is expected to reach 141 million tons in 2019.
There are three main ways of railway grain transportation in my country: traditional grain transportation, bulk grain transportation and grain container transportation. Among them, packaged grain and bulk grain use different transportation tools in the process of railway transportation. Packaged grain transportation is mainly transported by train freight general open cars and wagons, and bulk grain transportation mainly uses L18 bulk grain special vehicles.
On January 9, 2021, the 100 TEUs of corn "North Grain Transport to the South" train departed from Yangluo Port in Wuhan, marking the three northeastern provinces—Panjin Port—Wuhan Port—YunGuiChuan Channel(Iron and water combined transport of grain corridor)-development has taken another substantial step.
This batch of corn was first purchased and gathered in Panjin Port, then scattered and reassembled. From Panjin Port to Yangluo Port directly, it was transferred to Guiyang by rail at Yangluo Port. The entire transportation process took 16 days. Each standard container cost 6,000 yuan.Previously, there were two ways of transporting grain from the northeast to the southwest: one by water, from the "three northeastern provinces-Panjin Port-Shanghai-Sichuan Luzhou", and then leaving after landing in Luzhou Road or railway, the time is about 25 days; the second is pure railway or road transportation. Neither of these two methods of grain transportation takes less time and costs less than the current methods of transportation.
At present, there are many pain points in China domestic grain logistics:
